last night after connecting my mobile to my tom tom 500 it crashed. all i get now is on start up is the picture with the two hands and thats as far as it goes. i have tom tom home on my laptop and have tried to backup the tom tom from tom tom home but with no joy, so now the tom tom is useless. can anyone advise me on how to fix it.

Have you looked at the topic on this forum entitled "Tom Tom One stuck on splash screen!" dated Sunday 14 Jan 2007.
This might give you a few ideas.

Have you tried the "long & hard" reset?
Hold paperlip in for 30+ secs then power button for 10+ secs. |

Try holding the reset button for some time, say around 15secs or maybe more. It doesn't reset immediately.
