Not yet... The word "twenty" does not exist on the original audio of either Liz or Vikki, and I know that Mullet spent a long time re-creating it from another source.
Having a go at it is on my list of things to do, but life keeps getting in the way!
If anyone knows a way of un-compiling it from the 'navigation' voice file, I'd love to know. |

Does anyone know if there is a limit to how long the custom alarm can be? For example, can I insert an .ogg file that is, say, 5 minutes long? |

Andy, I am sure you can take appart the nav voice sound file, if there is software to create your own nav voice file it should be possible to take appart the Liz, Vic's or Andy voice, or perhaps Ray has the original wav files from the studio?
As for a 5 minute duration warning - out of interest why? the nav voice will over rule the warning so I doubt you would ever hear it in full even if the device allows this - Mike |

Just wondering if this might be a good alternative to Garmin's TourGuide feature which allows custom POI's to trigger Mp3 files.
If there is no limit on the length of the .ogg file you could make an audio tour out of a POI. |

Ah well perhaps we could ask Liz to say the time at 20 past the hour on radio and record it - Mike |

|
|
I have just spent the best part of the evening creating spoken alerts in .ogg format for the full PocketGPS speedcam database using AT&T's text2speech demo service (see http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php ). The set includes alerts for Gatso's (20-70mph), mobiles (20-70mph), specs (20-70mph), temporary cams and red light cams. The full Monty. I have also added a tasteful alarm to the Gatso, Specs and Red light alerts to draw the attention prior to the alert being read out. If you would like a copy please email me at wilyearthworm(@)yahoo.co.uk and let me know what you think!
Just unzip then copy the .ogg files into your map folder where the pocketgps .ov2 files reside.

Here are two sets using the messages from the original PGPSW data.chk versions. Some people wanted them because thay are more concise than Liz etc.
With siren
Without siren
Been waiting for PGPSW to host these, as I didn't have any webspace, but I've managed to salvage some space on my tiny NTL allowance, so here they are. |

Mullet thats a great idea.
I like the thought of trying out different voices & then downloading the ones I like!
Fingers crossed that this takes off. :D _________________ TomTom XL IQ

I'd already spoken to Mike about it, (and got Ray Flanagan's permission to use and re-package his files). Mike said they would discuss it when they all got back from CBit.
I'm hoping they can put an actual webpage together rather than just a forum post, but the main thing was just getting everyone's efforts stored in one place, I never trust those free file sharing places for long-term storage. |
