|
|
I am having difficulties in installing new voices to my TomTom One.
I have copied the .chk and .vif files into TomTom's voice folder and they appear on the right hand side of the TomTom HOME screen but not in the middle part where I need to check for installing. Any help will be appreciated as this is 'driving' me scatty. |

Using HOME, you need to have a file-specific .toc file to install the voices onto the device. You can just drag and drop them to the correct directory on the device, though, using Explorer. _________________ Tim |

Plug in your tomtom and turn it on. When "HOME" pops up, kill it. Go to MY COMPUTER, find the tomtom, click it. Dump the .vif and .chk into the "voices" folder. Disconnect. Drive around. |

WWA
Not sure how you can 'drive around' without first moving from your computer to the car though |

If the voice files were copied to the voices folder they will appear in the right column in TomTom Home, this shows what is installed to the device, so the voice is installed.
Now you need to select the voice to use it, change preferences/ Change voice and scroll through those installed. Mike |
