|
|
WAV file guidance is distorted and crackles on my iPaq 3870. I have installed PPC2003 and all ALK patches but problem still persists.
Interesting thing though ... the 'Welcome to Co-Pilot Live' WAV file that plays when you launch the software, it is distorted, as with all other WAV files that play in COPILOT but this particular WAV ceases to distort when TTS is installed ????
Audio from all other sources is fine on the iPaq so it must be the software. I suspect that TTS installs a different audio driver for COPILOT than is used when COPILOT is operating in WAV guidance mode.
Anybody had the same problem? Is there a solution?

'Welcome to CoPilot live' is a WAV file as you say.
The other sound files under 'Jane' have an ogg extension and are run from CoPilot.
Have you tried a soft reset before running CoPilot?
This will ensure that you have the maximum memory and resources available for the application.
Failing that, why not use text to speech?
I find that the extra information with TTS is very useful. |

Just to reinforce the suggestion to reset before running CoPilot - I would add a sugestion to confirm that CoPilot is not reven unning in the background before you do a reset.
My experience is that resetting my PDA when CoPilot is running (even in the background) can cause corruption to some files. So much so, that the ONLY way I have been able to correct it has been to re-format the SD card and start again from scratch - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! |

I am having this same issue. It occurs sparatically and not with the same wav file making it very hard to pin down.
Important fact:
- I encountered this problem before ever having turned off my phone (excepting of course when coPilot forces a reset). |
