I've had Traffic plus cameras for a month now and I have to say that I am somewhat underwhelmed by the accuracy of the traffic information.
I use the A1M, M25, M4 and M3 regularly. I also use M6 and M54 occasionally.
I also have a Trafficmaster Freeway in the car. Therefore I have been able to compare the traffic info on the two.
In far too many case, the information TomTom give me contradicts that given by the Freeway. I've had the latter for many years and know that I can trust it to the 90% level. If it gets it wrong, it's because something has just changed.
A couple of examples should suffice; both from yesterday.
I was coming back from Basingstoke to Baldock (M3, M25, A1M). TT said that M25 was clear between 15 and 17, Freeway said 20 mins delay. Freeway was right. On A1M past Stevenage, TT wanted to take me off because of 23 mins delay, Freeway said it was clear; and it was.
Does anybody have a good word to say for TT Traffic?

When I had a go with the free trial on my 710 I found it no great shakes and as it cost me through my GPRS connection then would cost more for the subscription, I decided that FM Radio 5 Live was just as good, but free. BEFORE you go buy their RDS-TMC thingy, read about that one first!!
I wonder why you didn't ask if anybody has a good word to say for TT cameras? To save you asking now - NO! _________________ Dennis

Apologies, but there are far too many forums on here to be able to see the wood from the trees. It doesn't help that they are not organised in any useful groupings (IMHO) |

What is the FM Radio 5 Live, is this a new services or just traffic updates?
I have to agree with the above posts, after spending 3+ hours today on the M11 with TomTom traffic telling me it was a 15minute delay you have to question the products TomTom are selling. Stay well clear of their RDS-TMC receiver it does not work . . AT ALL |

WHAT AM I SAYING ??? It's not on FM It's AM 909 and 693 (where everybody knows they do traffic updates at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour). I DO wish I wouldn't keep having senior moments. Sorry everybody. _________________ Dennis

as I have said on previous occasions there is lot that has to happen in aset order for tt traffic to work well I may be that one of the servers involved was cacheing information so the updates were not as uptodate as they could have been I've been a traffic user for many years since v3 and it has inproved in leeps and bounds over the last 6 months that's not to say that it wontbe wrong sometimes. nothing is perfect _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone.
