just took delivery of tomtom one v2 europe and given my v1 to my daughter. but i'm a bit disappointed. on my old ONE i had all the spoken warnings set up on a 'silent voice', ie silent for directions but spoken camera alerts. i understand this cannot be done on the v2 without downloading alternative voices and fiddling around ???
i was directed to this page on this site:
[color=red]http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-poi-alerts.php
but this was written a while back. is it still relevant and could someone instruct me how to achieve the voice alerts. i hate the bells and whistles options i now have installed.
ps i am not too techie with this subject so simple info please.
many thanks to my learned friends!!
tony.

Tony, Probably the easiest method is to use ogg files for the warnings you can find details on how to do this HERE - its much easier than messing around with the data.chk file. A source of the ogg files can be found HERE where there is also a silent voice you can install to get back what is currently missing - Mike

i read these kinds of posts all the time...

why would you want to have a slient voice??

i know that it will only alert you for speed cameras... but surely if you do the same route day in day out and know you rotue and dont require directions.... surely you most know where the speed cameras are??

what is the benefit??

Cheers

Rickt

dont need to know the route. i find the voices annoying. glancing at the sat nav gives me all the info i need regarding next turnings etc. whereas the cameras on strange routes you need sound warnings. Laughing
