Ok then
i have tom tom1 on my ipaq and also gpsassist running uk speed cameras
can anyone tell me why the vioce guidance seems like its in fast forward play (i.e. sound like the old tape players when you hit fast forward and could hear it through the speakers at the same time)
this is now bugging me as i cant find any reference to the sound frequency setup so dont know what to do as it is so fast you dont even know what was said
any advise will be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance
Ps. i have already done the version updates for both the ttn and tt gps from off the tt website |

(For the 3660 I would advise against using GPS 2.09 . For this PDA the version 2.06 or 2.07 is a safer bet.)
Are you talking about the TomTom voices or the GPSAssist voices? As far as I know they are both WAV type files, and it would be extremely unlikely that they would play at a different speed. It's not TomTom playing them, this task is delegated to the operating system. Have you tried playing the sounds outside of TomTom (ie from the file explorer) ? _________________ Lutz

Also, when you say it sounds like fast forward play, is it just that it's a higher than normal frequency or does the duration of the sound seem too short? Are you overclocking the iPaq? |

We have got a lot of complaints about 2.08 and 2.09 . You should really only use it when your machine is directly affected by the fixes included in these versions. This means, if you have an XDA II or similiar device, or a Navman 1000 jacket . The 2.09 is usurping the COM port and does not allow any BT serial communication besides itself. Not very friendly... It also installs a connection wizard that seems to do some weird things to user's machines. _________________ Lutz
