Yes, car speedo's are set to read up to 10% over true speed. Your GPS is reporting true speed and at constant speed over level ground is the more accurate of the two. _________________ Darren Griffin

Does this apply to all GPS systems. I am brand new to Sat Nav using my iPAQ 2210 with Tomtom and I note that my registered speed at 60 mph shows 55 mph on the GPS |

As it isnt the GPS giving you the false reading then all GPS naviigation applications will show this discrepancy.
Intrestingly if you live in America you might know what we are talking about. The last two times I visited Florida the GPS readout and the speedomoter gave the same reading. Both were different cars, which implies that the USA cars have proper accurate calibration on their cars. _________________ Mike Barrett |
