are they any mounts available, which allow you to mount the new TT one on the vent rather than the screen dash? |

These mounts (dashboard/vent) are in development by the well known mount manufacturers, and should be available for sale shortly. We hinted to them that the mount should be active (ie with power supply). Let's see if they have listened. _________________ Lutz

I emailled brodit yesterday. The reply was 'in a month' so hopefully within the next month the cradle will be on sale. |

Can't wait - let's hope it looks like a mobile phone mount so we can leave the mount in place without losing a window courtesy of some pond life! |

i went for an "Angled mount" (because of the positioning of the lighter in my car - the vent mount would have resulted in the cable going straight across the gear stick) and it required some slight fitting (i had to remove a rubber washer thing from the part where the glove compartment door meets the dash) but it'll be easily removable and leave the car unmarked - so it's a removable solution in that sense.
for very rough fitting instructions (only the pictures though) - click on the photo on the site to enlarge it; then copy the url for the photo (it'll end -4.jpg) - just change it to -1.jpg and then -2.jpg and finally -3.jpg. As those are effectively the fitting instructions.
If you email them at that site they are particularly helpful |

Hi All,
Just to let you know that stocks of the passives are ok in the UK, the active versions with cig lighter charger are on their way, we expect full stocks to land with the uk importer and then ship to us at DSL Developments and (other resellers too im sure) in the next day or two when all orders will be fulfilled, apologies to all for any delays, but the stock has not yet landed from Brodit Sweden into the UK.
Reference it being a permanent fixture, Brodit offer an additional product called a moveclip, a 3 part solution, 1 part fits to the face of the proclip, the other part to the back of the tomtom v2 holder etc, (and the 3rd part to either another cars proclip or another brodit holder, ie a phone or pda) - this allows you to slide the brodit holder from its proclip mount, and also transfer it between vehicles that also have a proclip fitted with a moveclip as described,
http://www.dsldevelopments.com/brodit/minimoveclipsDSL.asp
Hope this helps, any questions do drop me a PM or email me,
Many Thanks all,
Bryson |
