|
|
Hello all,
I've spent the last hours trying to figure-out why my newly received TTN 6 SW + Maps of Europe software fails to "see" the voice and map files installed on either the SD or CF card within my FSC pocketLoox 720.
I have tried creating a CurrentMap.dat file under \MyDocuments\TomTom\ but it did not help at all.
Re-formatting the storage cards, soft-resetting the PDA and re-installing TTN 6 or the maps did not help either.
I e-mailed TomTom support this evening but it seems it may take them up to 2 open days before they may provide some kind of answer.
I am leaving on a trip beginning next week and was looking forward to usig that navigation system I just received
Any help shall be greatly appreciated.
TIA.
Regards,

I have a similar problem, and posted a query a few days ago, but with no answers as yet. Maybe someone can help both of us?
"New to this list, and need some advice.
I've run Navigator 5 on my Axim for a while now without any issues.
After researching, and reading this forum, I took the plunge and bought TT6 GB and Europe on DVD.
Using TT Home to install the software and maps onto a 1 or 2 meg card seems to work fine, and TT seems to install onto the Axim. (At least in Home it shows the maps still on the card, and the program on the Axim.
However, when I start TT6 on the Axim, it shows me the Legal info screen about locating the unit in a car, which I accept, but the next screen simply says "no maps found".
I've been searching this forum and others for a few days, but can not find any information about this anywhere.
Can anyone help me with this issue?
Thanks."

I had this problem and found that if I removed the CF card, TT6 was quite happy with the maps on the SD card .
Not a perfect solution but it might help you. _________________ Go 520

I also receive the same problem with the install from DVD. I have even tried a hard reset before the install with the same problem. I contacted the TomTom phone support wbho advised that I should try re=installing (again). After another attepmpt on Saturday I have now logged a call with the email support team. I also found that the instgall did not work correctly and the install .cab file has to be run manually.
Please let me know if you receive a response from TomTom.

Try to copy the maps directly to the root of the SD card using a card reader. |

Hello all,
I nailed it down to a Flash Filesystem mounting order issue. The problem is, at least for me and my POcketLoox 720, that TTN actually only detects voice and maps on the built-in Flash storage ([\LOOXstore]) which is non removable (I have yet to figure out whic registry keys to alter to disable this "device" or change the mount order).
All maps and voices installed into the LOOXStore are actually detected correctly by TTN, the thing is, that device merely provides 29 MB of storage space which is OK for the voices but way too little for the complete western europe maps and for which I shall be able to use my SD Card.
I have logged a suport request with TomTom and hope they will have a clean solution to that issue.
Regards, |

Having the same problem with my Axim X50v. Seems to be "solved" when only having either CF or SD card inserted. When both cards are inserted no maps are found.
Try to remove one of the cards and reinstall TomTom. That should do the trick.
By the way: Anyone know how to change the "rank" of the memory cards? What I mean is that it seems TomTom is only searching the first memory card inserted, so somewhere in the registry there must be a setting as to which order the memory cards were inserted (or are to be searched). Help is greatly appreciated! |

Well done dancoud. I have also logged a call with TomTom as version 6.0 appears to work okay (except for voice) on the Loox ( I tried an unlicened copy). I do have a real copy of 6.01. The problem is with version 6.010 and is not limited to the 720. The Milo has the same problem. |

hi guys, im having a similar problem
im using a dell axim x50v with only a 512mb sd card
was successfully running ttn5 when i decided to upgrade to ttn6, i downloaded a file called ttn6ifalleni with a spanish readme file
ive translated it and basically it says just copy this file over your original ttn file in 2577 folder which ive done
then after a few problems with running programs ive managed to get ttn6ifalleni to start up
it loads the software and gets past the green safety page then i get the white screen saying
no maps found!
ive tried to delete my old map and reinstall a new map on the sd card, still have the problem
i dont understand the registry side of things on the pda's, dont know how to change values etc
this is really bugging me now , does anybody know a successful way to install ttn6 on the dell axim x50v
tried and tested
has anybody got the right software in the right order, i have full euro maps if anybody needs them including great britain plus and all the euro plus ones, all for ttn5 though
is this my problem, using the ttn5 map on the ttn6 software
any replies would be very much appreciated
thanx carl |

Carl, the idea is that you buy the maps and application from an approved reseller. You will get no assistance from this site on how to get pirate software working so please don't ask again. _________________ Tim |

tut tut
u may as well canlce my account then if your gonna send me replies like that, as a forum owner myself i know how thses things work, except i will do my best to help anybody on mine as the others on here do, but your regard for newbies is a little sour, you should be ashamed of your moderator status, theres no way i would have a moderator on my forum speaking like that to people
a simple 'sorry we cant condone the use of illegal software' would have done
u didnt really need to get on your high horse did you,
well i feel there are plenty more forums who will be a little more in viting than this one
i would take some lessons in tact if i were you
and if i were the admin on here i would remove your moderator status
but alas im not in a position to do that so with that i will say goodbya and thank you for nothing
i will however thank hope68 for his reply and im sorry but i wont be posting here no more
cya soon

No, no tact required and we are not on your forum. Our policy is set out in the Forum Rules which I'm sure you've read.
Please feel free to visit those more inviting forums and, no, you are in no position to remove my Moderator status.
If you would like your account cancelled, please let me know and I will arrange it for you. _________________ Tim |
