havings problems with tomtom + xda IIs

Hi guys, i recently got an XDA IIs with tomtom on it and a thirdparty gps bluetooth receiver off ebay.

The xda sees the bluetooth gps receiver just fine and pairs with it, in tomtom however it does not, windows mobile reports its using outgoing port com6 so i set "third party bluetooth receiver running on com6" in tomtom, however it still does not see this device from within tomtom any ideas? below is a piccy of my gps receiver

ok, i updated to tomtom6, now it finds the gps receiver just fine, but just says "Waiting for valid GPS signal" forever! :s
