I noticed that MaFt release this one. Could it be that Mike has finally found somebody to share the workload with _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

The combined file "pocketgps_uk_sc.asc" has 10620 cameras. Why the difference?

Mmm. 5 files with 5 headings.
The lines would = 10,625 with 10,620 cameras.
Just a thought. |

A similar thought crossed my mind, but the introduction here:
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Cameras
is very clear and I thought that would be too obvious a mistake.
My only concern is not to miss any cameras.

That's OK! The quick updates are much appreciated. As long as nothing has been missed out - that's the main thing. Thanks for all your efforts.

Three updates in October. Thank you and I love you.
I wonder if anybody would believe that I actually spotted the update, downloaded and installed it yesterday ALL before (just) I got the e-mail notifying me of it?
But I still wish you'd sort out Temp 21289 (M4 Motorway westbound) which I've been trying for ages to get shuffled a bit - e.g. extract from my e-mail 17 Sept :-
Quote: | Temp 21289@50 is actually quite correctly located and oriented in the database. HOWEVER it is masked by mobile 7030@70 (51.53392, -2.00887) and 14110@70 (51.53397, -2.0094) at that same location - on screen I get a two Mobile icons with temp21289 sandwiched between them and therefore invisible. The mobiles show as 70mph, whereas this temp is at 50mph. I have previously suggested another slightly false Long/Lat in order to position it outside (and a few yards earlier than) the sandwich of the mobiles. Can't remember what I suggested, you currently have it at 51.53386, -2.00911, so the following would do the business : 51.53391, -2.00878.
The Long/Lat suggestions (or is it Lat/Long?) I have given are taken by using Google Earth at very close zoom (close enough to see trees, vehicles and bridge shadows).
|
Looking once more at Google Earth and having seen other posts about accuracy of coordinates being variable between maps (Google, Teleatlas, Autoroute, TomTom, Garmin, etc), maybe my idea of preferable location is questionable. I don't know how those coordinates work (I come from "Left a bit, right a bit" myself!). What I really want is Temp 21289 shifting a few yards back towards London, so that it comes out from between the mobiles on the overbridge. This change is really worth doing - the bridgeworks are scheduled to continue until December. |
