can anyone help me i brought a tom tom one new edition and i have connected it to my pc using the tom tom home now it tells me i cannot disconect the device try again later im a worred to unplug it as i have read that it will the tomtom up anyone got any idears
my only thought is it may be beacuse i havent charged it ??? who knows |

Try to switch it off by clicking your mouse where the onn/off switch is on the picture of the device on your PC screen

ive tryed that nothing happens i followed the onscreen instructions now when i turn it on and plug the card in it shows me a card with a x going threw it but i have the card on read only |

If i'm picking you up correctly are you saying the card is protected (you have made it read only) if you have put the tab back as it must be read/write enabled |

has anyone copyed and pasted the whole tomtom one v2 sd card by any chance to make a back up that can e-mail it to me just incase my sd card has fecked up to bdol5887525@bulldoghome.com |

As Timber says, the TomTom needs to be able to write to the card. I have heard that the older units ignore the write protect tab on the card, but maybe the new ones don't. |

Andy,
in the intrest of accuracy my comment was based on a post made by another member who had similar problems which were fixed when he found that the security tab had been set.
Anyway have just tried with the security tab set and can both read and write to the card, sent a new splash screen then viewed it and finally deleted and restored to original with the tab set.
So a bit of a red herring |

When the ONE (or any Tomtom device) is viewed via normal File Explorer (or similar), at the same time as HOME is accessing it, then the eject from HOME won't work.
If you exit File Explorer first (or choose to view a different drive), then the eject will work. _________________ GO1005
