One question. If you wanted to load UK & Europe cams would you merge the two files into the "UK" one and then run your utility? |
I haven't tested this, but if you did it and the additional file was in exactly the same format as the PGPSW one I would expect it to show all the 'foreign' cameras in the correct place but with the wrong speed and/or type.
One of the complications of the Mio format is that it has a separate code for each country and you have to tell it what country to use for each file. As mentioned elsewhere I haven't worked out all the country codes yet - I don't expect that's a huge job but I have other things to do. Another problem is that I wanted this to be a one-click program so anyone could use it. If you have used the autovelox program with multiple countries you will see just what I was trying to avoid.

Ok, I think I have done everything right setting up this file, I checked the folder after and it only showed the new mtc file. Is there anyway of checking on the 510 itself if they are there or not?
Thanks....Dil _________________ ***************************************

Only by looking at a place where you know there is a camera. Go to the middle of Manchester or London and zoom in.

Or get someone who lives local to pop down the road to see if it is still there! Just joking! _________________ ------------------------------

Loaded PGPSW cams with 102. Today going past a site where I have seen a mobile camera in the past the Mio rebooted itself. Need to trawl through the cams and see if it is a reported position - Will report back if it is. |

That's the only way anyone has found to get inside the Mio.
But you can get a Bluetooth USB dongle and software for less than £20.

Thats true, you can get a decent 2.0 Bluetooth dongle for about £8.99 from the likes of ebuyer etc etc. XP Pro sees them without any trouble. I shall be buying one...... _________________ TomTom 720

Nah, I did better than that, I put in a local town and then ran my finger over the touch screen along the main road where I knew with using the nuvi where the cameras should be and low and behold , there they were, I also checked
some other roads wher the mio never used to warn me and again the cameras were popping out the map...brilliant. Just hope they work when I go for a drive that way.
I think our sall is brill.

Bye the way sall, When the speedcams get updated as they do, I take it we just do the same with the new files and copy over to the mio in the same way.
Also , when I downloaded the speedcam files there was the usual bitmap ones there, I transferred these along with the other one, do I actually have to do this or just the asc ones. I wasnt sure as I thought these were required for the camera icons?
Thanks ...Dil _________________ ***************************************

Maybe this is a V3.2 problem, as I had one of those and I have not updated to the PGPSW database. I might flag it up over at PDAMill.

Yes, just copy the new file over the new one.

The Mio always uses its own built-in icons, so you don't need any others. As I noted in the instructions you can copy all of the files to the Mio Builder folder if you like, but it will only use the one it needs.

That's very interesting. It will be interesting to see if anyone else reports a crash using the Mio database. It would be a shame if there is a problem with 3.2 after we have waited so long for it.
