Has anyone been able to do this. TomTom support have been looking at it for a week.

I have a contract O2 SonyEricsson K700i
The phone itself connects but I cannot get past 65% when trying to get the PLUS connection.
The general settings I have used are on the 910
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
Username : O2web
Password : O2web
I select automatic IP addressing
Preferred DNS : 193.113.200.200
Alternate DNS : 193.113.200.201
Dial : *99***5#
script : atz+cgdcont=5,"IP","mobile.o2.co.uk"

and on the phone the data comms is set to

External ID : 5
APN : mobile.o2.co.uk
username :
password :
password request : off
allow calls : automatic
IP address : ...
DNS address : ...
Authentication : None
Secure
Normal
Data compression : off
Header comp. : off

Obviously I have tried lots and lots of variations on this, trying different external IDs, different or no usernames and passwords, I have looked at http://www.tomtom.com/support/solution.php?GID=1&PID=60&SID=70&CID=94&Language=1&FID=3326

I have contacted O2 several times and believe that the phone is data/grrs enabled, but they did not understand what I was trying to achieve, and said it was nothing to do with them, and I needed to contact TomTom.
I have tried the same sim cardd in a T610 and a T630, and they both said at the same point where the K700 fails, something like the GPRS instructions are not supported.

Can anyone. tell me where I am going wrong.

Cheers
Paul

my k700 works ok with tomtom. If you look at that info page it says username mobileweb. Is that normal GSM/GPRS line you have there, so try

at+cgdcont=1,"ip","mobile.o2.co.uk","",0,0

Hi
I am with Orange, and my GO910 linked with TomTom as easily as could be, I have in te past linked a PDA via aT610 and GPRS to Orange and again no problems. However a friend of mine who is with O2 had some problems with his PDA and GPRS and found that O2 were not the most helpful. He did get it working in the end.

Have you tried the following site for details: http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html

I set up my PDA (not my GO910) using the site given above.
Hope this may be helpful

By the way I am just using *99# (not other rubbish with it) as my dialup code on my PDA, this works fine (again with Orange)

I had troubles connecting my K700 to my TT1 on O2.

Switched to Orange PAYG and it all worked without issue. Something to do with the O2 service not giving you direct access to the net or something.

I received a number of support e-mails from TOMTOM their last one said:

8<----------------------------------

Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.

From the details you have provided, we have checked the settings and they should be:-

Username: mobileweb
Password: password
Dial should be: *99***1#
The script should be: at+cgdcont=1,"ip","mobile.o2.co.uk","",0,0

Please set up your wireless connection again with these details.

With some Sony Ericsson handsets (K600i, K700i, K750i, S700i, W800i), it is sometimes necessary to set up the wireless Internet connection twice.
If the first attempt to set up the Internet connection ends in an error message, remove your TomTom device from the trusted devices list on your mobile phone. Then simply initiate the Internet setup again.
At the final screen of the Internet setup procedure, choose the second option: 'Incoming phone calls cannot be accepted while accessing the internet'.

8<------------------------------------

I still did not get this to work.
When I used a friend's phone on vodafone it worked instantly.
So after 6 calls to O2 support over 2 weeks, with them sending me WAP setting, I gave up and switched to vodafone.

The TomTom picked it up perfectly.

I'm now looking forward to a holdup on the road to Telford on Monday
Wink

Cheers
Paul
