Can anyone advise me? I'm new to GPS and have just installed TOM TOM and an HP2210 (works great) but I'm having trouble making my own list of POI. Ive made my list in 'word' with
lonitudes , latitudes , "name"
I've used the MAKEOV2 supplied on this site to produce my OV2 file
imported it onto my pocket PC in the same directory as the maps. but fail to find any reference to it when I run TOM TOM
Any help welcome

Hi Mel,
I use Oldie's excellent WinOV2 PC program (which can be downloaded form this site as well. If you use any of the published POIs form this site and run the "Dump ASC" option it will create a text file with the extension of *.ASC which can be read by notepad, it’s best not to use Word. You should get something like the following, which has been taken from the Jeep Dealership POI:
; Longitude, Latitude, "Name"
-1.862395, 52.549042, "All Electric Garages, Sutton Coldfield"
If you want to use spaces in your POI's name then use underscore "_". The BMP file also should be exactly the same name as the *.OV2 name, otherwise you won’t get the graphics on the map.
When you add POIs to your PPC, TTNav should not be running. If you still have no success then performing a soft reset should work.
Finally don’t forget to select the new POI so that it shows on the PPC.
