|

Hey all
The "About" option on my i3 tells me I have Audio Version 2.00 with my newly updated Software Version 3.20. I have read people talking about Audio Version 2.50 on this board, how can I update this? |

Hi Zogman
That's how I upgraded from 2.70 to 3.20 - using WebUpdater. It doesn't offer me any audio version upgrades. |

This topic was hammered to death in previous posts, If you have an original I3 unit with card supplied then ver 2.0 is as good as it gets while if you have one of the everything is on the internal memory then ver 2.5 . |

Ah, thanks for that. I did do a search but it didn't turn anything up. |

Totally, zogman.
When going up to 3.20, the Webupdater asked me if I wanted to check for further updates; said yes and it found v2.60 Voice. I didn't download this as reading the version info, I find I could care less if I have another 5 languages I can't speak on my unit! _________________ Garmin i3 gone (sold on eBay)

you'd think garmin would have an 'english version firmware only' firmware which in theory ,would be a more 'streamlined' and be smaller in mb size and hence (hopefully) more stable without all the extra bits like foreign languages causing problems..... _________________ *************************** |

Agree - you should be able to pick a language when downloading voice. The amalgamated Voice file is huuuuge. _________________ Garmin i3 gone (sold on eBay)

After all, Garmin go to the bother of only loading maps specific to the target sale country, so why not Voice also?
Or looking at it another (clearly more cynical) way, the reason Garmin only load limited maps could be so that they'll get more revenue when Brits (readers are advised that there are other nationalities available) go abroad and need to buy more maps.
Talk is cheap, maps cost more. _________________ Garmin i3 gone (sold on eBay)

Indeed, but please see the screenshots below - WebUpdater says there are no updates to download!

How do I do that? Can't find any 'audio version' upgrades or info on Garmin's website. |

i meant upgrading the firmware (v3.2) manually, without using the webupdater...download the file and click on 'updater.exe'... hopefully it will upgrade your audio as well... _________________ *************************** |
