Does anyone know the benefits of the new V2 Regional unit.

Looking at the specs they seem to have the screen size, but the V2 has less power.

Is there any benefit to buying the Regional unit? and can my TomTom 5 European maps be easily added ?

Regards
Matt

The new unit does have a lesser CPU but all reports seem to suggest that this doesnt affect the performance of the (re)routing or display. I have bought the V2 regional as a replacement for an Ipaq 2210 and TT5. This has a much faster processor and double the memory yet the TT1 calculates routes in the same time.

Regarding the maps I think there is a sticky on this forum regarding maps. The unit comes with GB which includes NI and Eire too down to street level.

I think and its only think, if you put your TT5 maps on you will be stepping back in map accuracy.

You can though, buy the TT GB and then buy the latest maps of western europe at a later date when you come to need them

I had a problem with my Western Europe Map v650 but TomTom very quickly sent me a fix.
