Sadly it doesn't take long but the versions floating around are early Betas and do not have the full function set available in the released version.
Please do not post direct links to such items in future though _________________ Darren Griffin |

one ebay auction has a cracked, early version for sale and is currently upto 160 AUS dollars. 160 dollars for a cracked, pre-release. 8O _________________ Visit Wayfinder Life for all your Wayfinder Navigator needs |

Why would you bother paying 20 pounds upwards when the full version will probably not cost much more than 80 pounds itself _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

because in all honesty a lot of people will believe they are buying a genuine product.
hard as it may seem to believe its true.
then on the other hand there are those that dont want to pay £80 for something they "think" they can get for £20 or so. |

I Think its because they believ its genuine. I certainly wouldnt pay anything for illegal software you can download for free. It wont make my conciounce any happier.
The ebay ad in question does nothing to make you think its genuine but also does nothing to make you think its illegal.
Experienced ebays will know genuine copies say they are, they show part of the activation card and have good feedback. _________________ Visit Wayfinder Life for all your Wayfinder Navigator needs |

If anyone has details of such sales, TomTom's Anti-Piracy team would welcome the details, email illegalproductATtomtom.com. _________________ Darren Griffin |

(Oh I'll get creamed for saying this!)
Seeing as the nice PGPS Forum community have brought this, through the nice admin people, to the attention of the nice people at TT, any chance they could reciprocate by responding to any of the Nav 6 specs/availability confusion that many of us seem to be suffering? You know, symbiosis - we help them, they help us. Or is it all one way??

Darren,
Further to my previous post, is there a way we can invisibly post such detail to the mods (so not on public view) so that PGPS members could 'out' other illegal activities? Through one mod, PGPS could act in support of TT and perhaps the membership could be treated by them as an asset.
Just a thought.
Geeez, did I just create a post that won't offend anyone? I was be ill! _________________ iPhone 4/4S (iOS 5.1.1); TomTom Western Europe (1.10)/USA & Canada (1.10); CoPilot for iPhone (8), UK mapping, Mac OS 10.8/XP Pro/Win7; Tongue firmly in cheek! |

Well done, but my point was if we, the members, made our reports through PGPS, then PGPS might rise in TT's estimation and they might take a more active role in assisting the membership (I'm thinking in terms of issues only TT can respond to - the mods & members here are tops for support). In the same way that PGPS members are 'smiled' upon by some retailers (via the discounts), we might be seem as an 'unofficial' supporters (or sufferers!) club.
As it is, you'll probably get Nav 6 for free now, and I won't! _________________ iPhone 4/4S (iOS 5.1.1); TomTom Western Europe (1.10)/USA & Canada (1.10); CoPilot for iPhone (8), UK mapping, Mac OS 10.8/XP Pro/Win7; Tongue firmly in cheek! |

Some interesting points, Darren has allready detailed where to e-mail any illegal "sales" so you coul use that as a first point of call, TomTom are more likely to get the report faster if its done directly, rather than using a Mod or Admin as a third party.
I reported a number of such links last night using direct contact and received a reply this morning - Piracy affects each and everyone as it is reflected in the final purchase price - So it is in ones best interest to stamp on it when you find it.
If you do need direct contact with PGPSW there is always the PM, E-mail or MSN options available to those that choose to make them visible Mike |
