Well the update from v3 to v5 said it failed. But phone seemed to be okay. So risked trying again!
Well it said failed the second time but when I do *#0000# it says v5.0609.2.01. Will have to see if reliable. |

I tried to do my Orange 6630, but at one stage it asked for the CD in order to reconnect the USB. I don't remember having a CD, so I had to abandon ship.
The phone hung, and I had to take the battery out to do a "cold rebooot" - after which I was back to status quo ante and all was well.
Was there a CD with the phone? Can't remember where I put it! _________________ Nokia E65 & TT Nav6 |

updated both our N70's last night to Orange V5.616.2.0.3 (wasn't given a choice)
one was on Orange V2.something and the other on Generic V5.609.2.0.1
both updates went without a hitch _________________ SW

to find out all the latest firmware versions for symbian phones, see here: http://www.symbian-freak.com/quides/firmware/firmware.htm
Remember though, if updating via Nokia Updater will it actually give you the latest version of firmware or the latest operator version as it doesn't remove the operator identity?? _________________ Rob aka Penfold |

Just updated my Nokia N70 (on vodafone uk) via the nokia site :
http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,1522,,00.html?orig=/softwareupdate
1st attempt was unsuccessful. No reason given but I suspect cable "wobble" during transfer. I restarted the phone and the 2nd attempt was succesful. My firmware now showing 5.0609.2.0.1. I,m new to this but as I understand it you can only update to the latest version of your service providers firmware. The only benefit I,ve noticed so far is that bluetooth links seem more stable. |
