If you put the new data.chk file in your HOME download folder, and place a .toc file next to it, describing the file, then HOME will be able to install it.
I tried to put example content for such a .toc file here, but it does not allow me. Error that I use not allowed HTML tags. _________________ GO1005

Did you rename the old data.chk File as I suggested? Did it make any difference? _________________ Richard

Hi Lutz, Are you able to give me voices for Gatso/Temp/Redlight/Specs/Mobile. I am running Tomtom Go (Classic) and have just upgraded to firmware 6.150. Having tried the 7120 download to no avail don`t know what else to do.

Richard, Could you tell me if there should be any data.chk within the map of Great_Britain_Plus Map as I deleted 7120 from there and put it into the main directory and got camera voices back, but I still have a data.chk old, in the map folder, I think I must have put it there when updating before and wonder if I should delete it as I did with the 7120. Regards Mike. |

just to clarify.
my TTG 700 is running latest version 6150 and i have just installed the data.chk file 7120
as per my previous post, I have found that if I dont click on the icon in the system tray (bottom right of taskbar) to 'safely remove hardware' and just unplug lead TTG reboots ok.
As for the 7120 data.chk file this isnt working have put the file in both western europe folder and root folder. |

have just noticed that when connecting to the TTG via TT Home I have noticed the following:
the version shown is 6.100 compared to 6.150 when shown on the TTG screen when not connected
the 7120 camera warning sounds are ok when accessed directly on the TTG but when accessed via TTH the sounds are the original ones
anyone got any ideas on these weird happenings??? |

Hi, thought I'd share my experiences of upgrading TTOne from 5.4x to 6.15.
TT Home installed under XP on my PC, then I downloaded the 6.15 update and transferred it to my TTOne. All seemed fine until after a couple of power off/on cycles it stopped talking to the PC via USB. The PC would not see the TTOne and the TTOne went straight into navigate mode.
The only way I could get the USB functionality back was by a "paperclip reset" and this only lasted for a couple of power on/offs before losing USB yet again.
Finally I did a "Factory Reset" from the TTOne menu, went through basic setup, powered down, did a "paperclip reset", powered up and re-entered my favourite setting etc. Now the TTOne asks (on its display) if I want to connect to the computer whenever it detects the USB is connected - I guess this is new functionality which had been "suppressed" by the old configuration. Its been fine since. Bit of a pain losing the favourites and personal defaults but at least its working properly now.
So maybe some older configuration settings are incompatible with the new software. The only way to find out may be to do a factory reset - take plenty of backups along the way too - just in case!
Hope this helps someone.
Can anyone point me to an overview of the TT file structure - what files do what etc? Just curious.

Quote: | Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.
Please do the following:
Reset the device using a paper clip, but do not turn it on.
Connect the device to your PC using the USB cable.
Turn on the device with pressing the on/off button for 3 secs.
Go to "My Computer" and browse the 700's Hard disc.
Delete all files in the root directory of the hard drive except for the folders.
Start up TomTom HOME and re-install the application only from the middle section.
With best regards,
