Seidio, the leading manufacturer in PDA and GPS accessories, today released a revolutionary new product: Seidio G2500 GPS Ready Powered Mount. The Seidio G2500 GPS Ready Powered Mount is unique in the market and is an ideal vehicle mount for GPS users. Seidio makes the GPS navigation simple.
The slim line GPS Ready mount is the perfect solution for all. While the mount is model specific, options are available for most of today’s popular PDA systems and provide a professional, safety and secure fitting in your car.
The Cradle
- It is model specific – You can simply slide the PDA into the, no more messing around taking the time to plug in additional wires and cables.
- An integrated PDA charger unit with built in speaker - It securely holds and charge your PDA, while also improving the sound output making GPS voice commands and other digital sounds louder and clearer through the integral speaker. You can drive in complete comfort without you having to worry about missing the instruction from a PDA speaker.
- It is GPS Ready - It allows the users to plug the GPS mouse (wired) receiver directly to the cradle for charging and connecting to PDA. For blue tooth receiver users, it can charge the receiver with the optional charging cable
- It serves as a hands free speakerphone for your cellular phone and PDA phone
- With a 360 degree swivel adaptor, maximum driver/passenger readability is always assured.
- It can charge your cellular phone or additional PDA with optional charging cable

This looks great. Would like to buy it for myself for Christmas :o) but I don't suppose it will be available by then.
Any ideas where's best to look?

If you want it quick, then the best place to check is www.seidio-europe.com as it's from the root of Seidio and not a distributor/retailer. |

Thanks Dave. I just spotted on their site that availability for the 2210 is early Jan. Never mind - maybe it'll be a New Year present :D
I'm a bit confused as to what cables I would require to get my Garmin Etrex & Sony Ericcson T68i to connect to the mount as well as charge so I may wait until there is more info on the site.
I hope someone from this forum can post info if they get one!!!!!

I'm a bit annoyed by this becuase last Sunday I e-mailed Seidio asking how I could use their powered mount with a wired gps system as I was just about to order one - they never replied so I've just taken delivery of their older system and had to order a bluetooth reciever as well - noone at Seidio has answered my e-mails - I certainly would have waited until the 3/1/4 when the new system ships for my PDA (2210).

You may recall back on December 18th we announced Seidio had released the new G2500 GPS Ready PDA Mount, today we have some more photos of the product with a diagram on how it all fits together.

We have a review sample booked, but I have spoken with Seidio again as we haven't seen anything yet and they are still waiting for these to come in. Hopefully they will receive delivery of them by the end of the week. |

I received this reply this morning:
"We are having a delay on the delivery of the Seidio G2500 GPS Ready Car
Mount for iPAQ 2210 due to some adjustments.
We estimate to receive the product in our Europe warehouse by the end of
next week, and ship your order inmediately after.
Please, receive our apologies for the delay.
Sincerely,"

I've ordered one too for my Dell Axim X5, no news yet on delivery, but I'll let you know when it arrives, and what I think of it.
Had all kinds of hassle getting the order in though ... stupid e-commerce software wouldn't let me select a shipping method. Turns out it was because I'd entered a single space as my postcode (we don't have postcodes here in Ireland!). As soon as I entered a 0 instead it worked!!! |

I am thinking of one of these G2500 mounts for my iPAQ 5550 so I can use TTN2 and hear the instructions, but I have a question, on the 5550 the audio output is on the bottom of the unit on the 3xxx series it is on the top, the pictures of the mount imply that the bottom of the iPAQ is totally covered how does the mounts speaker connect to the 5550, does it have a hardwired audio connection and if that is the case how can the the same mount fit the 3xxx series and the 5550 ? |

I suspect that it won't work with the 5500, or they will have to make some large modifications to try and make it work. I've always thought the best place for the headphone socket is on the top of the iPAQ, I can never understand why HP decided to move it to the bottom on some models.
Your other option would be to go for the standard Multimedia Mount reviewed at http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/seidiomount.php |
