Is there an email address to advise on a) missing cameras, and b) spots where cameras have been removed for good (yes it really does happen!!) |

Thanks because you have numberous cameras showing on the M25 near to the M11 - all left over from the roadworks earlier this year - but all cameras have now gone. |

The roadworks cameras on the M25/M11 Junction were removed from the current database release, you may want to download it. _________________ Darren Griffin |

We haven't updated it in the last few days. I noted that the cameras in question had been removed a while ago and ensured they were removed from the database. I'm running the latest version posted in November and they are not present on mine? _________________ Darren Griffin |

just read through all ten pages of this thread as i had been wondering about a source of info for cameras but i dont see it covered anywhere...
would it be possible, to extract the locations of the cameras stored in the likes of the geodesy and cyclops units and integrate it with your own database?
im sure there are plenty of legal and probably technical issues involved but is it possible in theory?? |

Whilst it may well be possible in theory, the databases in such products are often compiled in a proprietary format and in some cases encrypted as well.
Coupled with the fact that backward engineering their database and extracting the data would be a violation of copyright means we cannot and will not be attemting it _________________ Darren Griffin |

This is a great tool and I use it on every journey I make.
I have logged a number of new locations and a mobile location, however when you store a new location and it askes what camera type, Speed, Red light etc I could not see one for mobile locations.
Is it there and I just missed it or is it something that needs adding?
Oh, and the remove POI location feature is great as well for duplicate entries.
Looking forward to the speeds being displayed as well.

I don't think they record Mobile locations due to the fact that mobile locations seem to get hit for a couple of weeks, then when everybody knows they are there they move somewhere else.
If you use this route often there is nothing stopping you marking it as a standard Camera then you can easily delete it when they stop using this area.

Yes the safety camera database is still being maintained and the latest April release will be available in a day or so. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I don't think the Palm version of TomTom supports custom POIs? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Mike can probably confirm this, but my understanding is that custom POIs aren't currently supported in the Palm version.
This information is elsewhere (I think in Mike's review of the Palm version), but apparently TomTom have written a new cross-platform navigation engine, which is used in the Tungsten T3 version and in the TomTom GO, also TomTom have done some experimentation with Symbian versions of Navigator. However, Pocket PC versions of Navigator, including Navigator 3, does not (yet) use this code - development was already well advanced before this cross-platform engine was produced.
Some features in the Pocket PC version of Navigator aren't yet supported in versions using the cross-platform code, and custom POIs is one of them.
Hopefully custom POIs will be added to the Palm version of Navigator in due course - they were a much wished-for feature in the days of Navigator 1 on the Pocket PC, which is why they were added in the first place.
