|

Hi! I have an XDA Mini S on which I am sucessfully running Tom Tom Navigator 5. All is working fine, thanks to the help from Mike in getting the TT software installed.
When starting the XDA out of the box, I was advised to load the corporate settings to avoid a load of o2 guff from slowing down the operation of the device. However, this seems to leave me without any wap settings. This means I can not surf via gprs, or use my Tom Tom traffic subscription.
Can anyone tell me how to configure the device to give me wap access please?
Many thanks

There are two lots of settings you need. Follow both...
1) GPRS Web Settings
Start ... Settings ... Connections ... Connections ...
Under My ISP tap Manage Existing Connections and then Tap Edit
(if this isn't present then tap 'Add a new modem connection')
The Select a Modem drop-down box should be set to the following:
Cellular Line (GPRS)
Tap Next
Access Point Name: mobile.o2.co.uk
Tap Next
Username:o2web
Password: password
Domain: leave blank
Tap Advanced
On the TCP/IP tab, only Use Server-assigned IP Address should be selected
Tap the Servers tab
Use Specific Server Addresses should be selected
DNS: 193.113.200.200
Alt DNS: 193.113.200.201
Tap OK
Tap Finish
2) GPRS WAP Settings
Start ... Settings ... Connections ... Connections ...
Under My Work Network tap Manage Existing Connections and then Tap Edit
(if this isn't present then tap 'Add a new modem connection')
The Select a Modem drop-down box should be set to the following:
Cellular Line (GPRS)
Tap Next
Access Point Name: wap.o2.co.uk (for Prepay enter payandgo.o2.co.uk)
Tap Next
Username:o2wap
Password: password
Domain: leave blank
Tap Advanced
On the TCP/IP tab, only Use Server-assigned IP Address should be selected
Tap the Servers tab
Only Use Server-assigned Address should be selected
Tap OK
Tap Finish
Tap Proxy Settings
Tap Advanced
Tap the WAP field
In the Server filed enter 193.113.200.195
In the Port field enter 9201
Tap OK 4 times and exit
Good Luck _________________ Tcepser

OK, have now finally configured everything above - many thanks!. I can now use wap so I am getting an internet connection.
I have been on to Tom Tom, changed my device (this XDA Mini S is a replacement for my Ipaq) and have rest my account.
In TT I can use the Tom Tom Weather, so I am able to connect to the TT network and download data.
However, when I try to use the TT Traffic all it seems to do is retrieve traffic data. I mean that it just seems to be downloading data but does not give traffic info. Have tried for a variety of routes, long and short, but nothing seems to happen, even if I leave it for 15 minutes or more!
Any suggestions please! _________________ Iphone 7 running IOS 11.1.2

Glad to hear that it works now. But sadly I am unable to point you in the right direction here. I know that O2's GPRS is rubbish! I always have problems with picture messaging. Perhaps you look on the tomtom website and see if there is any update to get?
Otherwise Im sorry
Good luck and keep us informed _________________ Tcepser
