Is the Holux 236 supposed to charge when used with a 12v car charger?
It will run on 12v, but the charger light will not come on, even if the unit is switched off.. It charges fine when on the mains. |

It should charge in the car with no problems both my units do, is the charger plug inserting fully into the socket and does the LED illuminate on the charger plug? - Mike |

I've just been outside to try again, and it does indeed charge.. I guess it must have been so drained of electricity that it didnt light up last time I tried to charge.. Good to know, thanks for the reply. |

When in the car with ignition on my 236 is always on charge, using the Holux-supplied in-car charger but the green light on the 236 rarely shows because once fully charged its effectively running off the car battery and the green light goes off in fully charged condition even if connected to a power source. I rarely use the mains charger. Two thoughts:-
- 236's seem to use very little juice so once hooked up in the car it may not need to take a charge for very long; ergo the green light is not on for very long at all.
- Is the in car charger working. Have not seen mine for ages 'cos its beneath the drivers seat but seem to remember it has green pilot light to show its receiving power. _________________ Nexus 7 (2013) & Nexus 4/Sygic/CamerAlert

The green light does go off when it's fully charged, maybe that's what is happening? _________________ Gone fishing! |

No it was defenately no battery left, as I had left it switched on by a mistake.. Never mind, it seemed to charge OK now - atleast the charging light came on last night. |
