Hi - I've had my Nuvi for a month or so now, ans so far have been more than pleased with it. Until this morning, that is...
I downloaded a GPS update yesterday, and all seemed to go according to plan - until this morning when I came to enter my first destination. Instead of asking me to enter the 'Country' when starting, it asked for 'COUNTY', and then straight away flips to 'No matches found'. I can't enter any locations at all - all I can do is use 'My Favourite'.
Also, when trying to transfer some European maps across via my PC it says it's unable to - either the source or destination is corrupt (can't remember which one it is, sorry).
I've thought about deleting one of the files on my Nuvi, but not sure which one, and using the web updater to refresh it. Would this work? Which file should be deleted?
Or, has anybody come across something similar and rectified it.
Thanks all

I've tried pushing the reset button, but that doesn't do anything. I haven't tried a gps fix though. Is that difficult? Would it really cure it? I'll give it a go. It seems OK when I'm driving around - it seems to know where I am OK
Thanks |

I deleted the map file 'gmapprom', along with the 'gmapbmap', 'GUPDATE.GCD' and 'current.gpx' files. Tried using the 'webupdater' but offered nothing else - couldn't load up any map data onto the Nuvi either.
So I copied just the first file (gmapprom) and hey presto! It seems to have cured itself! Don't know why, or how. Haven't tried loading any maps onto it though, so not entirely sure if it's cured completely yet.
thanks again |
