Hi,
After 45 years of driving (averaging 15,000 miles per year) I was recently stopped in County Durham (where there are no fixed speed cameras), on a quiet country road, by the police using a handheld speed camera.
As I was over the 30 mph speed limit I was given a speeding ticket and fined £60 together with 3 points on my licence.
I am not complaining as I have been very lucky to have managed 45 years motoring without a driving conviction of any sort up to that time.
I do not intentially speed, or otherwise break the law, but this momentary lack of concentration when I was actually taking an elderly relative to hospital highlights how easy it is for anyone to transgress.
If I had had a GPS system in my car with the PGPS camera database downloaded I would have realised that I was speeding, and slowed down accordingly, thus avoiding the £60 fine and inconvenience of sending my driving licence off, notifying my insurance company etc.
I therefore feel most strongly that the £19 per year subscription to this site is extremely good value for money as it gives more peace of mind when driving, and it is certainly most cost effective if it saves you from even one speeding ticket.
Regards,
Robert Swanson

The database is only an indication that a camera has been at that location in the past and should not be relied upon as being 100% true or accurate.
If that spot is used quite often, OK you would have had a warning.
If used for the first time, then £60 + 3 points.
Again, remember parts of the DB could be one month old as well, depending on when the location was reported.

Totally agree with you.

I took out a one month subscription on the 2nd of this month and I downloaded the camera database. I have come back to the site today to download the recently updated version (still within my one month subscription) and the site says that I should pay again.
All of the information I have read says that you can download the camera database as many times as you like during your valid subscription.

I've checked your email address with PayPal and Nochex and cannot find your payment. Did you use another email? Can you PM me the receipt please. _________________ Robert Brady
