Hi,

Just a quick question??

With the specs cameras will the alerts only sound when entering and leaving the zones.

If you drive too fast between the cameras will an alert sound to let you know that your average speed may be possibly too high??

Thanks.

Mussey1.

On the Navman 520 it does not alert you if your average speed is too fast, it only alerts when you enter near your point of interest...this being a "specs camera"

If you are running a Nuvi, one work-a-round is to reset your trip settings as you pass the first camera. The trip will then give you a continuous readout of your average speed. You won't get any warnings if your average is above the limit though.

I was thinking about the average speed problem between specs cameras..

If we know where the entry and exit cameras are would it therefore be possible to place 'ghost' camera pois approx every mile along the route between the two and set in each case the alert range to one mile.

This would mean that you will get constant overspeed alerts along the stretch of road, enabling the 'average' speed to be monitored.

Is this practical??

I know there are new sets of specs cameras currently being built near me.

I will try this and report back.

I personally think this is imparctical. When you enter a SPECS zone then the alert should be enough to tell you to stick rigidly to the enforced limit until you reach the end.
