i have a TomTom Go 400. does anyone know you can ask plot a position in long and lat and navigate you to the nearest road?

To answer the question Not quite.
There was some third-party software for Lat/Long that worked on old versions of software (do a search to find the topic either on here or the yourNav forums),
and the new v6 software does it on the new x10 range, but that hasn't quite made it out officially for the x00 series TomToms yet. Hopefully soon though. |

v6 will only get you to the nearest point on the road network - after that you are on your own. |
