Will the TTN5 program only pick up map data if it resides on the first gig of a 2 gig card? I have experienced some strange behaviour in that respect and wondered if that is the case. Using a 1 gig card seems to work fine.
I ask the question because I previously had the program detecting a map on the 2 gig card. When I moved the map later to a different position on the card (after I had subsequently installed a large amount of other data to the card), the map could no longer be seen by the program.
Thanks for any help.

when you say you moved the map to a different position, what do you mean?
If you moved the map folder from the root into another folder, Tomtom won't find it - you have to leave it in the root and named EXACTLY as Tomtom expects to find it.
I'm not aware that you can choose where in the 2 gigs (ie 1st gig or 2nd gig) to put anything, nor that it should make any difference to the viewability of the files.
Your device is capable of reading and writing from/to 2 gig cards I presume? Older Palm devices have trouble with 2 gig cards. |

I am running Navigator 5.401 on a 2 Gig SD card in a PalmOne Treo 650 and have had no difficulty with it reading any maps. I do have a 50x card which means reading and writing to it is quicker. If you have a slow card there may be a timout problem.
Moving the file will not cure the problem as the data will remain in the same place on the card and only the reference in root change.
My card was already 1/2 full when I installed Navigator so the whole program is likley to be in the second portion of the card...? |

from memory it shouldnt matter in which part of the card the map folder is ie 1gb or 2nd gb. as long as its named correctly and is in the root of the sd card _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .
