|
|
I gather the 510 and 710 can link to a phone via BT and thereby provide a hands-free facility.
Question I have is, does it work OK?
Any problems?

Works fine with Sony K700, Nokia 6230 and 6280. Internal mike is not much good but Ok with external mike plugged in. |

Depends on the phone you have TT have a list of compatable phones (and which features willl and wont work on them). As long as your phone is on the list for the things you want to use it for it should be OK. _________________ Peter

Just one word of caution........ it's not as good as a traditional Handsfree for quality.
It might be a good idea to see if you can see/hear one in action first - especially if you are making a purchasing decision primarily on handsfree capability.
Hope this helps.................. _________________ Thanks,

I've had a few hands free units in various Company cars and I have to say that my 510 is very good. Very good indeed. I'd say it is as good as some of the hands free kits that cost as much to buy & install as it costs to buy. It's a great unit but the external mic is essential if others are to hear you. |

That is a pretty good review.
What kind of external mic has been most successful with the 510? |

Agree on the external Mic - but the TT is a poor handsfree solution IMO. _________________ Thanks,

Just so I am sure what you are talking about... the external mic provided works well? |

Hi,
My opinion is that the Mic improves the situation but the TT is a poor handsfree in the first place.
As you can see from this thread other people have had a much more positive experience than me......................
In the end it's down to what is good for you............ _________________ Thanks,

I'm affraid to say that my 510/handfree with a Motorola V3 Raza was useless. Most conversations resulted in my conversation being ended by the other party because the line was so bad.
I took the unit back to Halfords and downgraded it to a GO500. The older unit unit works perfectly.
Having owned both models I'd say that the clarity of the display on the 510 is a big improvemnt over the 500 but apart from that I don't think that there is much between the two. _________________ Paul Driver
