I recently upgraded from Navigator 3 to Navigator 5 on my iPaq 5450, running with an EMTAC CRUXII/BTGPS.
Navigator 5 has been working fine for a number of journeys. I just completed a journey and powered down the iPAQ. Shortly afterwards I powered it back up and tried to start Navigator 5. The red hands appear in the bottom right corner of the screen to indicate that it is running and the title bar at the top saying 'TomTom Navigator' appears but the rest of the screen doesn't appear. I have tried clicking on the title bar but the Navigator screen doesn't appear. I have also tried using the iPAQ shortcut key, brought up the list of currently running apps and tried switching to Navigator 5 that way - but no, it doesn't show up on the screen.
It looks like the app is running but it cannot display properly. What can I do ? Can I reinstall and if so, will I be able to register again, even though I only upgraded a few weeks ago ? |

Bizarre. I've done a hard reset on the iPAQ and then done a restore with the image I took just after installing Nav 5 (when it was working fine). The behaviour is still the same - only the TomTom screen header is showing. No, no other software running at the same time. |

ok I reinstalled and it has fixed the problem....but I now have another. The bluetooth connection between the iPaq and BT GPS keeps dropping and it then fails to reconnect. I can go for a drive and it will be fine, then return to the car for the return journey and within a min of connecting the two devices together the connection is dropped. TomTom then prompts me for my GPS device again but fails to reconnect. If I go to Bluetooth Manager and try to connect it also fails saying it can't find a valid serial port. Soft reset and it all works again.
Any ideas ? Could the iPaq have a problem which is causing the connection to be lost or could the TomTom BTGPS software be causing the problem ? |
