|
|
When will a version of firmware 6.xxx be available for the 00 series TTGo's?
Several of my colleagues have TT500's and I have a 510, but the older units do not have the buddies feature. I assume that the ver 6.xxx firmware will have the ability to create a buddy to communicate, etc with the newer 10 series units.
Is there a thread anywhere on this? _________________ TomTom 720

No official announcement yet. They probably want to get the x10 car mount problems fixed first.
And no, we will not post the link to dubious download sites. _________________ Lutz

Hi TuuRG, you say 6.12 is available for older models via Home.
I've seen this version available for download on the tomtom site for the new -10 series, but is it actually available for older models like mine, a Go 300?
if it is, how is it installed without the benefit of Home and the docking adapter which seems to auto install the software for the newer machines that use the adapter and Home?
Thanks

|
|
I have just downloaded the HOME program from the TomTom site and installed it onto my WinXP PC. I then used the HOME program to find that I needed an update of the firmware in the Go and I got it to install the current version 6.
The Go now freezes at the opening screen and can only be switched off using the reset facility. I guess that my Go will not work with this upgrade and/or with Home.
Can you please advise either how I might proceed to make the upgrade work or how to restore my previous installation. Oh dear, I didn't make a backup - hangs head in shame!
On the bright side, I have copies of version 5.202 and could manage files to delete the new and install the old on the Go - with a little guidance, please!
I'm sorry to have to bother you with this problem. I promise to back up FIRST next time. _________________ Tom Tom XXL User |

I would have thought that the map data needs to be updated as well, but maybe it's compatible with both old & new map data ? |

click support 2. What's new in the TomTom application version 6 for users of TomTom GO, TomTom GO 300/500/700, TomTom ONE or TomTom RIDER?
but it seems that they have pulled it away because home cant find anything ATM. |

Hi
As I understand, the v6 update has been pulled because of reported switching on/off problems (hearsay!).
Somebody mentioned possible incompatibility with POI Capture.
I found this rarely worked with v5.42 so I'd like to remove it in any case. Does anyone have uninstallation instructions?
Thanks |
