|
|
Hi
I registered today and subscribed for the year using the link:
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/pay-preprocess.php?paymenttype=2&paymentprocessor=2
Which is found under payment option 1 on this page:
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/subscription.php
which clearly says "PAYMENT CHOICE 1 Instant subscription via PayPal. "
I got the payment confirmation email from PayPal but subscription not recognised on this site and I can't download e.g. the cameras database.
I've checked my Pay Pal account and it looks like it has used eCheques which can take a while. Having clicked the "instant signup" link I assumed it was just that. So....
Be warned - don't know if it's a default setting on my Pay Pal account or something else that I have to configure. Either way I guess I'll have to wait the few days.
On a related point: My email address on PayPal isn't the one on this site that I registered with. Will that cause me a problem for downloading once the eCheques thing is sorted ?
Thanks
Steve |

Hi SteveEBoy and welcome to the forums!
99.99% are instant and we do state "Please note that if you use eCheques it can take up to 8 working days to clear through the UK banking system." in bold and red on the sign up.
The email address won't be an issue. _________________ Robert Brady |

Yep - you do state it in bold red right at the top, that's not my point.
My point is for the benefit of others and it is this:
I use paypal often and wasn't aware that I was using eCheques - not even sure why I am - if it's a PayPal config setting at my end I wasn't aware of it, still not. My intention was simply to alert others to the possibility that they might be using eCheques and it might be worth having a look at any config settings they might have set up.
At the time of writing this reply I notice I'm still not showing as subscribed to this site so I'm off to cheque the clearance date on PayPal

Have just checked
Submitted on 17/6, expected clearance date 26/6 which is about right with the 8 days bit (i.e. working days).
Not a big issue just pointing out that potential subscribers should be alert to the fact that the eCheques thing could be at their end
:D |
