i am completely perplexed by mapsource city navigator north america... i have successfully unlocked the product on my PC and can select regions for download. I can also successfully download those selected region maps onto my blank SD memory card with no problems.
the problem arises when i insert the memory card with the maps on into my street pilot i3. I get the message 'cant unlock maps'... i am confused cos i have already unlocked the maps?
can anyone shed any light? |

Have you tried inserting the blank sd card in the i3 and downloading the maps direct to the i3? |

... and are you sure that you have unlocked the maps for i3 (using its correct serial no/internal ID)? _________________ Nuvi 765T

yes i have tried those things... but neither make any difference. Plus you cant load maps from your PC to an SD card through the street pilot. I have unlocked the maps cos i am able to select regions for download and download them successfully to the blank SD card through mapsource.
its only when i put the card in the streetpilot that i get... 'cant unlock maps'
i am puzzled!! |

thanks for directing me towards that post... i will try downloading the maps onto the SD card when it is inserted in my streetpilot. However i am almost sure that if you try to do it that way it will try and save the maps onto the internal memory which does not have enough room on it... but i'll try. |

ok thanks rodtrotter... i am probably wrong!! its just confusing as i have metroguide canada V4 and that works fine on my streetpilot after downloading maps directly onto the SD card through an SD card reader...
its only the city navigator north america V4 that i am having problems with... i will try downloading the maps directly onto the i3 with my SD card inserted |
