Hi Guys
New to the site, and my first post so be gentle :-)
I've just purchased a Tomtom One and want to get a mains charger for it for doing upgrades etc.
Can somebody recommend me one that doesn't cost near the £20 odd quid that Tomtom want for theirs please?
Links would be appreciated
Thanks |

If you are worried by TomTom's instructions that say something like "before you connect to your PC ensure your TomTom is connected to the mains charger", don't be.
All they really mean is "if your TomTom runs out of power while doing a file transfer, it could do nasty file corruption type things"
So long as your One is fully charged up you will have no problems. I have a Go300, have spent many hours with it connected to the PC and have never used a mains power supply once.
Connect it up and make sure you do a FULL backup (just by copying EVERYTHING onto your PC's hard drive) before you start messing around. |

For less than £10 in Maplins you can buy a mains to 12v converter. Just plug and 12v cigarete lighter adaptor into it and plug it into a normal 3 pin socket.
I bought it for my ONE but have used it for various other 12v powered devices and adaptors.
