|
|
I've had my GPSlim236 since June, and up until a few weeks ago it was working fine. Now when I turn it on it never gets any locks on satalite's, the amber light just stays on. I've tried it several times over the last few weeks but the same thing happens. Does anybody have any ideas ?
The serial number is S/N: 236-52000036
Thanks

Have you tried sending a cold start instruction with Gpsviewer. When you have done that put it somewhere with a clear view of the sky it should get a fix within a minute or two.
If that doesn't work perhaps leave the battery out overnight to clear the memory.
If neither of those helps then I would contact Holux as it looks as if your unit is broken. |

I've had the same exact problem. Bought mine in September and worked fine for a few months. Sometimes taking quite a few minutes to connect to the satellites but once connnected worked great. Problem now is I haven't used it for a couple of months and now won't connect to the satellites at all. I tried a number of different things from resetting through GPSviewer and sirfdemo and nothing. Tried removing the battery for a day or so and short circuiting the internal battery. Still the amber light remains solid. I believe my software version is 3.1.1
If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears. Bought the system from a seller off ebay.
Thanks

Make sure it is fully charged, take it outside in clear space away from buildings etc. and switch it on, wait for 20 to 30 mins without moving the device and see if the reception returns - Mike |

I fully charged the receiver and put it outside in clear view of the sky for an hour and 20 mins and still no fix. I may try and reflash the software to see if that helps. If not I may have to pick up a new one.

Well, after trying almost everything to get this receiver to come to life I sent it off to the dealer I purchased it from and he tried reflashing the software. This didn't work so he replaced the receiver with another. Hopefully I'll have better luck with the new one.
