I have submitted my own custom made icons to your download section that I have lovingly created for the masses. If they get stuck up on the site, can I get a free subscription? Pretty pleeeeeese ;) |

Does anyone actually check the submitted downloads? I would have thought the response times to stuff like this would have been vastly improved now you are charging for subs? If I submitted a new camera I should be expecting a response within a few days rather than 4 weeks as some other members are experiencing.
If you are going to run this show commercially, then you really ought to give people the service they deserve. After all, "Thousands" have already signed up since Feb, so even as a worst case scenario (Thousands is over 2000) you have netted over £4000 that you wouldn't have had before when the database was free and the service was the same.
Am I alone in thinking we should expect a massive increase in customer service sometime soon? |

Sorry Steve,
We get several thousand emails and post requests per week (yes really!) and unfortunately it's inevitable that the odd topic gets missed.
When we were a totally free site we never offered 'official' support although, as most of you are aware, we did it voluntarily in our spare time.
We only offer guaranteed support to our members in our members forums. It would be impossible to offer guaranteed support to 30,000 people a day in the free forums. That said, all you have to do is look to see the dozens of replies that we make to visitors in the free forums on a daily basis - covering up to 20 hours a day - to see that they are not neglected!
Just for future reassurance, 99% of support emails and posts are dealt with within 12 hours, the rest within 24 hours. (Sometimes, though very rarely, it may take a little longer at the weekends.)
You are a very rare exception - I do apologise, I can't think why this topic didn't flag up Steve!
In answer to your question, we are working feverishly on revamping our uploads and POI section and it is likely that your kind contribution will appear in time.
I'm afraid that presently the only route for a free lifetime membership is to contribute cameras that are verified as the first submitted.
I have given you a free month as a member as a thank you for your contribution and to say sorry for not spotting this topic so you can get a feel of the new forums and appreciate the improvements we have made to the speed camera database... and of course the guaranteed support that comes with membership
Hopefully you'll decide to stay a member after the first month _________________ Robert Brady |

*Stupid no edit facility not fixed yet*
murf62... you could always try sending them to Ray Flannagan's site.
He kindly hosted the ones I made for me. |

Assuming you already have the normal PGPSWorld ones installed, you will have a set of .bmp files called things like "pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.bmp", pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.bmp etc. in your map folder along with the identically named .ov2 camera database files.
All you need to do is replace these bmps with the custom files, using normal Windows copy and paste, renaming them to have the same names as the originals if neccessary. |

All mine are names as the originals, so are just a straight overwrite job. Just make sure you download the speed zoned cameras if you want to use them for the various speeds. |

Thought they probably would be .
It was just quicker to write "...if neccessary" than to download them and check! |
