Tiger Electronics have revealed details of their forthcoming mobile convergant handheld games console named Gametrac.
The WinCE.Net based console is being developed at Tiger's UK base in Farnborough and is of special interest to PocketGPSWorld readers as it comes with a GPS receiver, the intention being that it can be used by parents to track the user via it's GSM/GPRS interface.
Although their website has scant information, UK News Site The Register has more information and also makes mention of the manufacturers claims that the GPS "can even provide in-building coverage"!

The Register also suggests that "Gametrac will be launched without a SIM for around £126" and that mobile providers would sell it for about £60 on contract.

That's not bad for a GSM phone with built-in Bluetooth, GPS receiver and a 320x200 colour screen. I wonder if you will be able to run Wayfinder (or similar) on it? Thumbs Up

Sounds too good to be true!!

I saw this the other day on another website and was waiting for a bit more info to come out of a press release, looking at what The Register has, it does look like it could be a good device. I'm still a gamer at heart, not as much as I'd like but having all of this in one device would appeal to me. The NGage does look good, but there have been flurry of bad comments from hardcore gamers putting the NGage down.
