Still no sign as of 28 April 2006! One german retailer is preordering the "upgrade" - but no release date. |

That is disappointing. I e-mailed globalpositioningsystems.co.uk and they are not aware of it's release. They did tell me to 'check their website' as it would appear when available. Nothing like stating the obvious! |

Typical poor customer support, and a sign of what to expect once you have the software.
Today is 5 May 2006 - and no sign yet? At least update your website and say release changed to xxxx |

Thanks for finding that out. They really should have thought about that before the Press Release! I didn't get a reply at all from Destinator when I e-mailed them about this. |

Does any one have a list of features for V6? I feel a little behind times, still using D3 v3.0.75_81 on iPaq 5450.
So still got minor fault with round abouts, no easy to find nearest custom POIs etc. I checked their website which has changed a fair bit on the face of it, but still has nothing behind the scenes.
I got my father a refurbished TomTom 300, and am tempted myself. |

If you go to the Destinator Europe website at http://destinatortechnologies.com you will find quite a lot of details about Destinator 6.

Thanks - doesn't look stunningly different or feature rich except for the walking mode. |

I just hope they manage to make it the well rounded program than PN NEARLY is. Its spoilt by a lack of finesse and some UI disasters and makes users hate it before they've realised its actually quite good at navigating! If they have listened to users it might turn out to be a rock solid proggie.
However, I think they've taken too long. With the advent of the new Tom Tom devices and the updates to competitors it almost feels like they'll be chasing from the day of release. _________________ Tom Tom GO 720

Agreed.
The delay in releasing will put them behind, first it was end April, then mid May. We are now at the end of May with now sign yet. Indeed the Destinator website still says end April.

Navigon MN6 will be out this summer (before Destinator the way things are going!). This will also provide TMS-RDS data from TrafficMaster, as well as the interface tested by the Franhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering for usability, and a better (than Destinator PN) method of TMC avoidance.
Previously Destinator PN, allowed you to "automatically" reroute, or manual. In the manual mode, you would have to scroll through the list of TMC events to see if these affected you - which was impossible. Auto rerouting, routed round every incident - adding more to the journey that was saved by keeping to the origional route.
MN6 provides an infomative screen. How far the problem is away, and what the problem is - giving you a choice to "drive round" or "ignore"

At the meet last Saturday in Edinburgh I was told it may be July before it will be released perhaps this was one of the reasons Destinator had no representation at the meet? _________________ Acer N35

I have now received and loaded Destinator 6 onto my PDA. Have yet to test it out but so far I like what I see. All my favourites have copied across from PN without any problems.
I'm going on holiday to Switzerland and Austria in a weeks time so it will give me the chance to try it out using Europe maps. _________________ Dave R (h5djr)
