On my 910 I go to the status summary (tap the satellite status) - tap the version number (bottom right) - version numbers for everything are then shown. _________________ Paul

Thank you. I have now found what version of map I am using but what is tomtoms current version for the uk map? I have tried looking on the tomtom website but it doesn't say what the latest uk map version number is. |

My latest map version is v650.1052 - be aware that you have to pay for map updates/upgrades. Most people wait for the next application upgrades which include map updates. _________________ Paul

Are you sure??
All system upgrades have been free, to date. And separate from the maps. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Updates (say 5.1 to 5.2) are free, upgrades (say 5 to 6) you have to pay for. _________________ Paul

That's not right at all...
All software updates/upgrades (e.g. v4.xx to v5.xx) have always been free. All map updates have always been paid for. |

The maps get updated pretty often from what I understand, and they are only getting better with time. |

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I'm not sure how we are supposed to know whether a map update is worth buying or not as there is no way of viewing the updated maps online.
Also TomTom don't seem to show map version numbers on their web site so I don't even know how you're supposed to know that they are different to what you have now. Well, apart from reading about it here of course. |
