I have just downloaded Mapopolis demo maps for london to compare with my Garmin Emap since they both share navtech's maps, I noticed there are no shopping centres ie no Lakeside shopping centre, bluewater, Brent cross shopping centre also there are no cinemas(movie theater). I am missing something here. |

Which type of maps have you loaded? Make sure to use the NC version (the one with the biggest size) not all map types include all POIs.
Generally speaking - Mapopolis may not have such a great POI coverage. But their map accuracy is unsurpassed, at least in the US. (I am not talking about map completeness, just about accuracy!) _________________ Lutz

I actually downloaded the NC demo for London area , about 4 in all and looking through the download area was the section for the platinum place guide, I downloaded the London version but on looking at the file seems its the same as the file (platinum map gps.) for London.
I ‘have come to the conclusion there isn’t one for Europe just yet. I am just about to send an email to their tech-support.
Apart from the issue above, Mapopolis Rocks. I will keep the emap for the Points Of Interest till I get a confirmation from Mapopolis that there is a European version of (platinum places guide). |

The Demo Navigator maps (NC) contain all the info. If it's not in there then it's not yet included. Probably also a question of money. Mapopolis is relatively cheap, and somewhere they must have saved when purchasing map attributes from NavTech. _________________ Lutz

you are quite right, i will recommend this software to anybody who doesn't want to pay too much for a navigator software...
i think not including any cinemas for the whole of the uk amongst other things may have being oversight or a simple mistake.
i hope am wrong |

If the POIs are the most important item for you then you should go for Destinator 3 - they have the most POIs _________________ Lutz

after reading various forums on (copilot and destinator 3)
i have decided to stay with mapopolis
i think i found a solution to the poi issue
i will try convert some of the poi listed for other softwares to mapopolis maplets, hopefully that should work
i think in time mapoplis would release fully featured poi for the uk.
for now they need all the help(feedback) we users can give them. |
