Excellent, pleased to hear it. Mine turned up today as well although I still haven't made up my mind weather or not to keep it, I have until morning to decide. |

Well - I have had a play with it and I got the hands free to work fine although it wasn't clear on the other end - didn't find the microphone till after so will try that tomorrow!
My next problem was it wouldn't pick up a GPS signal at all. I tried it out of the car and in the car but nothing. It is a very clear night so not sure if that is the problem. I have it set to Western Europe and was able to put all my favourites in but as soon as I try to get to a destination I cannot get the signal.
Will try tomorrow to see if it is any better - don't really want to pay out for an antenna unless it is really necessary.
I presume the old one from my Mio168 won't work with it? |

Where are you guys getting your 910s (or 510s) from?
I know a lot of people aren't selling them yet. |

Jean,
If you are trying to get a lock for the first time, it can take up to 5 minutes. Thereafter, it should be fast. It should easily get a lock out of the car. Mine seems to have achieved a lock indoors - very impressive!
Had to laugh reading your post on the 910 being in German - I had a real mad moment and just brushed the screen during set-up and ended up in Swedish or Finnish. Glad the icons are user friendly or I'd well and truly stuffed!
Haven't had a chance to play yet and probably shan't until the weekend
Thanks to EasyDevices for a quick delivery - confirmed yesterday @ 4pm, City Link at my door at 9am this morning. |

A friend of mine said that his new 910 took over an hour to get a lock the first time he turned it on. So I wouldn't worry if you don't get a lock at first - just leave it switched on out in your garden for a while and I'm sure it will get a lock. |

Well I set it up to go to work today (sad I know!) and it took about 10 mins to lock in then it was fine and I was quite happy.
On the way home tonight it still took a while to lock in so hoping it will improve as time goes on. |

As with all GPS devices, it is quicker to lock on if the unit is stationary (and has clear access to the sky) - once locked, you're away!
I STILL haven't played with mine, other tham having it linked ot the PC.
Damn, I wish I could drive! |

Loving my 910 so far - all working well and now picking up signals pretty quick.
Doing a long trip to London in a couple of weeks so looking forward to seeing how it goes there.
I like the style of Tom Tom anyway having already had tom tom 5 on my Mio so am quite happy.
Really fancied this one for the added maps - we go to Florida twice a year and also go to Germany and Spain so it will be useful then. Also the phone connection works brilliantly. |

I,m a bit miffed that, everyone else barring W H Smith are stocking 510's yet Maplin are sticking to their 13th of May despatch date.
So much for their powers as a big retailer. |

Maybe they are waiting for everyone to run out of stock and then bump their prices up?

check you have set it to the right location and time, and do it whilst stationary in the first place. |

Thanks Tumbleweed.
I checked it out and today it clicked in ok. I still do not see it much faster than the old one but at least it works fine.
I am going to try setting it all up with the tomtom home on the pc at the weekend. |
