Anyone know where I can get a couple of city maps (Adelaide and Cairns) for my TomTom 300? I'm going over for the summer, and would like to take the TomTom, but don't see the point of buying the expensive map of the whole of Australia.
Thanks

Hi Ollie, Don't know of any individual city maps for Adelaide or Cairns however Cairns is a relatively small place which is a breeze to get around, Adelaide, yeah perhaps you need a help for the suburbs.
All in all Australia is a lot easier to find your way around than here and that includes Sydney!. It's a fact that even out the back people only get in strife when they leave the highway. |

that I'll need a Garmin hand-held GPS with long/lat to get me back to civilisation should I stray off road, rather than a TomTom. (Think safer I'll avoid off-road in the Outback...)
Since we're out investigating emigrating, we'll be off the tourist track and in the suburbs looking at houses, schools etc. Would you recommend any good road atlas's then?

Any of the big cities have good atlases the main ones being Sydways, Melways etc.. Also UBD are another good brand.
Good luck with the migration, just watch the redbacks under the dunny seat. |
