my screens went blank

my garmin i3 running v7 2.90 bought in dec 05 just has suddenly went blank today.
have tryed replacing batteries but keep getting nothing no noise nothing
it was runnig off lead in van next minute it just went off.
as i said tryed new batteries and other point in van but screen of death still there
(just like windows te hee)
anyway is there anyway to reset the unit or does anyone know how to fix or will i have to send back to garmin need this thing to do job please help with s

Try a cold reset - hold down left hand button and thumbwheel whilst powering up (ie. - all three 'buttons' down at once...)
