The Favourites are kept in the .cfg file inside the map folder. Just back up this file and all is safe. |

HI there, I too have a lot of favourites and found the answer on here...
Thank you!
But I notice when I open the .cfg file, this is not just my favourites, but it would appear to be all of my previous routes IE departs and destinations.
Q1. Is there any way to distinguish a favourite from the other?
I have used POIEdit to read the file, and have other favourites (I thought I'd lost) on a back up previously done. I have copied these across using POIEdit to my current .cfg, but POIEdit doesn't save it.
Q2. Is there any way I can transfer it from the back up to the current .cfg file?
Thanks _________________ Steve

Not easily, and not with POIEdit.

If you want to Merge your Favourites, the best way is to Convert the existing ones on the Device to a POI Category (call it Favourites). Then just Copy/Paste to the Map Folder the Backup copy of the .cfg File, and do the same with the Favourites in that.
When finished you will have a POI Category that is easy to Backup/Restore, Add to, and is nearly unlimited in the number of Locations it can hold.;) _________________ Richard

Thats exactly what I want to do, and a clear and easy way to do it.

No way to do it all in one go AFAIK, so...
1 ) Make new POI category - Change Preferences / Manage POI / Add POI Category - call it "My Favs" or whatever.
2 ) Add POIs - Change Preferences / Manage POI / Add POI / Choose "My Favs" / Select "Favourite" and choose the first one.
3 ) Repeat step 2 for all your favourites. |
