Best maps

Could i ask in general which sat nav map data people consider the best is it Tomtom or Navteq.

The question should have been "Is it TeleAtlas or Navteq"

This varies wildly, and is very much dependent on the area you are interested in. Where do you want it compared?

I was thinking accuracy, detail, etc

I mean geographically where. Some areas are better covered by Teleatlas, others by Navteq. At the end of the day it is pure luck, and depend on where the surveying truck has come by most recently, and if the geocoders have worked properly, and if the application vendors have not cut the data needlessly, etc.
