I recently leant my Navman iCN510 to a friend who for some reason, has put a diagnostic log that boots up upon starting the system. I can't remember the exact wording but, after it has loaded the maps, it pops up a message asking if you want to run a log named "XYZ."
Now, I want to get rid of this and for some reason, my Navman crashes after this point onwards.
How do I kind of reinstall everything onto my Navman so that everything is wiped off and I can start afresh?
Many thanks |

If someone could tell me how to reinstall from scratch then it would be great. I have just swapped my Navman 520 with my dads 520 as he was having problems... I have tried to update the software but I get a message saying theres no space on the "main drive"...
I have to confess I find the Navman/SmartST/ActiveSync situation to be completely terrible... theres nothing in the manual about doing a complete reinstallation... just appalling... |

Hi
Open up your desktop 520 software, click help, open up the manual.
Go to page 69, back up your iCN onto your pc, using active sink. Follow the instructons and you will have to reinstall your software afterwards, with the install discs that was supplied with your unit. You will have to go to recover information via the software option tools.
If you look for old threads on this forum it is posted in depth.
Hopes this is of help to you
Regards

Thanks, some how I managed to fuddle my way through it last night without seeing your post. I still don't think its that clear as it merely says installing another language rather than reinstallation...
interesting that the pdf manual is different to the one I have with my Navman...
Gotta say that I hope Navman employ somebody to do their software and manuals better.. .it really is awful... I say this as a software engineer myself :D |
