Hi all,
I've just signed up even though been reading these forums for a while, so I thought why not join!!!
And as my first adventure here, I've posted a picture of a new style Gatso coming your way.
I've seen 2 of these weird looking ones near my house, any idea what they are, speed they measure etc etc etc
Thanx and how do I submit these ones to the Speed Database!?!

Be afraid. These are combined speed and redlight enforcement units with digital cameras in them.

Is the post meant to be bent like that, or has this one been "modified"? _________________ Jock

Seen several of these now in and around London - several now on A40. Some seem to be replacing standard GATSOs. I do not think they are necessarily combined red light cameras because some of them are nowhere near lights.
Maybe they are new digital ones (rather than film). Or have I read somewhere that they are not allowed to use digital photos in cameras? _________________ Peter

2off of these camera on the A590 in Cumbria and 2off in Barrow in Furness. All 4 are detailed in the database.
Nasty ones these as they alwayd have the cameras installed unlike the traditional Gatso's that have the camera moved around leaving just the empty boxes. |

These are the new Digital Gatso cameras. I don't think the bend in the post is supposed to be there. Looks like someones attacked it already!!! |

I noticed the bend as well and went back and had a look, its been recitified. 8O
After these go up, how much time passes before they become active ?
Also currently there's no sign further up the road, warning motorists about these camera's, so I was just wondering is there meant to be some type of warning |

Below is a link to my local Camera Partnership's policy on these things.
You will notice that it says there must be signs within 1km of the camera and then say's "but it's not mandatory so if there isn't there is nothing you can do about it pal" (I have paraphrased that a bit )
