Hi
I'm a V5 newbie having used V2 for a number of years, but after upgrading things seem to have gone from the menus
On V2 you could configure your menus, e.g. say on which page you wanted a specific option. Can this be done on V5? It takes 5 key strokes to get to GPS status on V5, on V2 I could do it in 2. It takes 4 key strokes to exit the application on V5, on V2 I could do it in 2.
On V2 I had a freeware postcode searcher that used the full 8 character postcode. Can you do this on V5?
Come on guys. Tell me that this isn't a backward step |

Try this link to get the menu builder that will do what you want, back-up your device first just incase it all goes wrong - Mike |

Thanks. That's great.
What about my postcode question? Is it possible with TT5? |

Hi psionman,
You can be spoilt for choice as there are two! ;)
I’ve only used the online one (and a text editor) but I understand the Windows program is also good.
Online version: here
Windows program: here

Yes it’s a built in default that comes with TTNav 5 as standard.
If you’ve got the latest version of TTNav, i.e. 5.21 then it should work, otherwise you need to create a TomTom folder on the root of your storage card.

Full post code support is included withing TT5, you need to use the navigate to, then select next page and use the postcode icon, if it doesn't accept full postcodes add a folder to the root of the memory card called tomtom and this should enable it - Mike |

I found that the Great_Britain.Postal file had to be put in a root folder called Zip (but only after an awful lot of searching around the TT website and forums). Once I had done this it worked like a charm.

And don't forget, enter postcode without a space - AB12CD.
If you enter AB1 2CD it won't work. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property
